Prof. BABATUNDE, Fikayo Ezekiel is Professor of Agronomy/Horticulture, Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture. Provost/Dean of College/Faculty of Agriculture at the Ejigbo Campus of Osun State University. He obtained Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (Crop Production) degree (B. Agric. Tech) from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi in 1992; Master of Science degree (M.Sc.) in Agronomy with specialization in Horticulture from University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 1997 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Agronomy from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi in 2002. As an exemplary teacher, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (P.G.D.E) from A.T.B. University, Bauchi in 2004. An erudite scholar and active researcher, Professor F.E. Babatunde has acquired several years of experience in teaching, research, community service and entrepreneurship development at the university level particularly at the School/College of Agriculture of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi and Osun State University, Ejigbo Campus. He was briefly the Acting Director of Quality Assurance unit of Osun State University in 2011. Head of Department of Agronomy; Acting Provost/Dean of College/Faculty of Agriculture at the Ejigbo Campus of Osun State University. He is a contact person on the Global Research Management Network of the association of Commonwealth University in 2011. His wealth of experiences, breadth of vision and commitment to the realization of the mission and vision of Osun State University resulted in his election as one of the Senate representative on the Governing Council in October, 2014.

I am Emmanuel Hanyabui, a Ghanaian male born. I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, in 2017. I also finished my MPhil degree in Land Use and Environmental Science at the same University in 2020. I had a RUFORUM travel grant to Kenya in October 2018 to present some findings from my research work during the RUFORUM Biennial Conference. Subsequently, I won a 6-month scholarship under the IntraAfrica Mobility (ACADEMY) project funded by the European Union (EU) to carry out research work and audit some courses Kenyatta University, Kenya, in the 2019/2020 academic year. Recently, I led a Team – Team biochar to compete for the WegePrize 2020 project award, for which we won the finalist award. I also won a 3-months scholarship to participate in the British Institute of East Africa (BIEA) Graduate Attachés Programme. In addition to that, I was part of the team (AkuafoLink) that won the Best Web Monetization Solution Prize for the 2020 AfricaHacks. I have a number of publications to my credit. My research interest borders on soil-plant nutrition dynamics. I also have ample experience with using biochar as a potential soil fertility amendment and climate change mitigation. I wish to establish research networks with renowned and experienced soil and environmental scientists and experts in other agriculture-related disciplines that will enable me to design, implement and evaluate laboratory- and field-based soil and environmental management research projects to improve the ecosystems services that Sub-Saharan African (SSA) can produce delivering the order to ensure food and nutrition security for the burgeoning growing population.
