Prof. Dawood Omolumen EGBEFO
Before joining the Edo University Iyamho, Edo State, Nigeria on 3rd October, 2017, Dr. Dawood Omolumen Egbefo has more than fifteen years lecturing experienced. Born 25th March, 1967, married with two wives and five children, hails from Idumu Oniha Quarters, Esan North East Local Government Area in Uromi, Edo State Nigeria. After his secondary commercial education, he attended University of Ibadan in 1993-1997 for a Diploma programme in Library and Information Studies; University of Ilorin 1997-2001 for his B.A. in History Degree and in 2004-2006 for a Master of Arts also in history and in 2008-2013 for a Doctor of Philosophy in History and International Studies all from the same University of Ilorin. He benefited from the Federal Ministry of Education Undergraduate and Postgraduate Thesis grants and TETFund Doctoral Grant among other grants. He is recently a Professor of History and International Studies and the Current Dean of Faculty of Arts, Management and Social Sciences, Edo University Iyamho, Edo State, Nigeria.
His expansive university work experience formally started with Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai (IBBUL) in 2006 as an Assistant Lecturer before rising to the post of Senior Lecturer in 2014. With IBBUL, several courses from 100 Level to 400 level were taught and projects on different topics supervised within and outside the Department. Besides, his community services while in Lapai included: Associate Editor, Lapai Journal of Nigerian History; Participant Mega Rich concept and Training Workshop Coordinator; Editor, Lapai Journal of Humanities and Lapai Journal of Central Nigeria IBB University, Lapai and Secretary Staff Welfare Committee, Faculty of Education, IBBUL among others too much to mention here.
Administratively, Dr. Dawood has a tall count. Starting as an Adviser and Examination Officer, Department of History and Archaeology; Assistant Field School Coordinator, Archaeology Field School to NOK, Jos, Nigeria; Chairman, Maintenance Committee on Accreditation Exercise, Faculty of Education and Arts, IBBUL Secretary, Faculty of Education & Arts Orientation Committee IBBUL; Member Local Organization Committee, International Conference of the Faculty of Education and Arts, LOC 3rd International Conference of the Collaboration of Education Faculties in West Africa (CEFWA, IBBUL, Secretary, Faculty of Education Library Committee, IBBUL; among many others Committees in his present place of work.
In the area of publications, he has so far more than seventy published works in National and International Journals, nine chapters in Books; five conference proceedings; three books, and more than 25 forth coming papers and two TETFund Institutions based research to his name. His area of research is on Intergroup Relations, Nation Building and Development.
